About
I didn't go looking
for peace.
I lost a business, a clinic, my health, and most of what I thought I was — and, in a basement, through a cat, the moment I stopped looking, found peace and a happiness that stays.
The story
Twenty-six years treating patients, researching, teaching, studying, questioning, writing.

A seeker and a healer since childhood, I eventually formalized the latter: I trained as a physical therapist and then could not stop training. Osteopathy. Manual therapy. Acupuncture. Chiropractic. Naturopathy. Homeopathy. Phytotherapy. Two doctorates in the health sciences, and two post-doctorates after them. For twenty years I taught what I had learned to other clinicians across the United States, Brazil, Portugal, and Canada. The work made a clinic, the clinic became a franchise and made a school, the school made a small empire of post-graduate and continuing-education courses. I thought that was the answer to the question I had not yet learned to ask.
Then came a chain of events that shook my whole world. The clinic closed. The body broke. The empire turned out to be a job. The question finally surfaced and there was nobody left to answer it for me. What followed was three years of slow disassembly: the contemplative traditions on one side of the desk, the neuroscience on the other, a cat on the keyboard, and nothing left to chase. These books are what came out of it.
What I'm not
I am not a guru. I am not a coach. I am not selling a method. I am not a doctor of medicine. The credentials at the bottom of this page are clinical and scientific — they exist to ground the writing, not to sell anything. The retreats are small and the courses are few because I am writing ten books and that takes most of the time. The newsletter, Quieter, is the part you should subscribe to if you want to know me. The rest is downstream of it.
What I'm doing now
Writing the seventh of the ten books. Teaching one course a year. Running two retreats a year. Hosting one online seminar a month. The rest is reading, walking, and not posting.
